Hi All! The word of the day today was WOW! We were blown away by Tokyo. But first off I have to give a huge shout out to our personal guide Hiro. He navigated us thru what seemed like 30 metro stations without a hiccup. And we walked 13.8 miles (isn’t that considered a marathon??)!
The city is so beautiful, the people are so friendly, the parks within the city are so peaceful and serene but then there’s the metro stations! I’ve never seen that many people cram onto a metro train! But again Hiro navigated us thru it all like a champ. He spent 9 hours with us and we enjoyed every minute of it. Hiro for Emperor! Lol.
Here are all the places we saw: we went to the Golden Gai with the narrow alleys with very tiny bars, we saw Godzilla climbing on a building, we went to the observation deck on the 45th floor of the Govt Building and saw the Tokyo Sky Tree (tallest structure in all of Japan at 2,080 feet), we saw the Imperial Palace, we walked thru the Hama-Rikyu Gardens, we saw the beautiful Tokyo Metro station, we ate lunch at Hibiya Maysumotoro (one of the oldest restaurants in Tokyo), we went to the Tsukiji Hongan-Ji Buddhist Temple (17th century) as well as the Tsukiji Fish Market, and finally saw the Rainbow Bridge and lots of cool Skyscrapers.
Whew…. That was a lot! We finished up around 5:30 PM and went back to the hotel to regroup. We really wanted to head back out in the evening but we were exhausted! But we did sleep well and guess what, no jet lag! I swear by those no jet lag gummies you get on Amazon. Worked like a charm!
Hope everyone had a great day! We’re excited to meet our other tour guide tomorrow, Yoshi, and explore a whole different part of Tokyo! We’re already talking about when we can come back!
