Tues Aug 4, 2026
Hi Gang! The word of the day today was LAZY! Yeah we slept in really late (that losing an hours sleep takes its toll!), just chilled most of the day and got a little educated. But we were resting up for a fun night!
The speaker today was again Jon Malay, who we heard the other day and who’s a very good speaker. Today’s topic was called “Fins, Fur and Feathers”. As the name implies he talked about whales, bears and bald eagles, all of which we saw on this trip!
During the evening we went to the Pre-Dinner show from the Oceania Singers and Dancers called “Motor City Moves”. It covered all the great Motown
Music classics from the likes of The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson and many others. Great music and a great show!
Right after the show most of the staff joined the stage to thank us all for coming and say goodbye. It was a very nice send off. We really like the vibe on this Oceania Ship!
After that we went to dinner in the Grand Dining Room and channeled our Regent style and had dinner with two of the dancers. They too knew two of our “kids” from the Regent world cruise which were Isma and Lachlan.
These dancers names were Carol Patricio and Oliver Sanders. Carol was born in Portugal, but lived in both Dubai and London growing up. She’s been dancing since she was very young and also is a yoga instructor. Oliver was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and also has been dancing since he was young. He got his dance degree in Las Vegas via a program called TAPS.
They are both amazing dancers but are also such really nice people. We’re so glad we got to know them better and hope to meet them on a future cruise!
We had another great dinner tonight. I had two starters which were the Caviar (well, LAH-TEE-DAH!), and the Caesar Salad. For my main I had the Maine Lobster in the Shell and for dessert I had the Molten Tanzanian Chocolate Cake. Great food, great conversation but sorry no pics!
After dinner we went to the show which was called “Magic, Music and Mischief” by a husband and wife couple named “Becker Magic”. I had not seen these two before but Kathy had and really liked them. They were comediennes and magicians. It was a very funny and magical show! We’ve really enjoyed all the guest entertainers on this trip!
After the show we went to the Horizons Lounge to listen to the Four Corners Band play a set called “ABBA Mania”. I mean who doesn’t like ABBA music? They played all the classics and it was a nice way to end a great day. Tomorrow we’re in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Hope everyone had a great day!
PS: I included several pics of Carol and Oliver in their show, as well as our Cruise Director, Carson Turner and all the staff and crew.
