Hi Folks! Today we were docked in Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. We didn’t dock until 1 PM and have been here before so we just decided to head off the ship and see if we could grab a local tour guide to take us around.
We found “Dave” and there was another couple looking for the same thing so all four of us went with Dave all around the area. As soon as we got in the car and all introduced ourselves, they too were from Charlotte, NC! Small world!!
We literally drove thru every cool neighborhood, stopped at and walked around a gorgeous park, saw a cool castle, drove thru Chinatown, and saw the government buildings and the Empress Hotel downtown. It was a whirlwind tour but very fun!
After our tour we boarded the ship and got ready for dinner. Tonight we ate in our fourth and final specialty restaurant, which was the Steakhouse restaurant named Polo Grill. It was delicious!
Being the last night of the cruise and being a steakhouse I decided to strap on the feed bag! Had three appetizers which were the Pork Belly, the New England Clam Chowder soup and the Crab Cake. For my main I got the Ribeye with Crispy Bacon and Sautéed Onions. Finished the night off with the Triple Chocolate Brownie! Yikes! That was good eatin’!
After dinner we called it a night since we had to finish packing and put our suitcases out. We’re really sad to end this voyage. We were impressed with Oceania and I said this the other day but they seem to have really lifted their game since the last time we were on them.
We sail back into Seattle tomorrow morning and will fly back to Charlotte. I’ll do a final trip update in a few days. Hope everyone had a great day!
