Hi Gang! OK, are you all sitting down for this?? Big news… big big news… we did not play one single passenger game today! I know what you’re thinking… are you sick? did you finally hit the wall and get tired of the cruise routine? did Kathy finally throw me over board?? No, No, and the jury’s still out on the last one! Lol
We actually used today as a heads down admin day. We spent time planning our Fall Japan trip booking excursions and flights, we researched some excursions for ports later on this cruise, and finally did some planning for our 5 day safari next week and even called the resort to ask some questions. We got a lot accomplished but to be honest the passenger games are so much more fun!
But you know how I told you how much we’re loving this whole world cruise experience and all the amazing people we’ve met. And how I’ve said it’s feels like family and it truly is. Several of our good friends either texted or stopped us when we were at lunch (we did take a break for lunch since you know we’re on two hour feedings!) and asked if we were OK. After playing every passenger game for 111 straight days and then not showing up almost merited a 911 call! Lol. Love this new family we made!
And just like last night where we were so excited for the day to come since it was the new Variety show from the Entertainment team, tonight was just as exciting. One of our favorite lead singers, Isma, had her first ever solo show on the big stage. Well I guess I shouldn’t say she’s our favorite since we love them all (kinda like you can’t say which one of your kids is your favorite!) but she is pretty darn special!
And she too knocked it out of the park tonight performing a mix of tap dancing, regular dancing, singing and sharing stories about her life’s journey to where she is now. Her show was called “Raised on Rhythm” and she truly was. She even did a song with her boyfriend Lachlan, our other favorite singer. She’s the sweetest person and deserves everything she’s earned. And when she makes it big we’ll one day say, “we knew Isma back when she was performing on cruise ships!”.
Her show was at 5:45 PM as a Pre-Dinner show so after that we went to Compass Rose for dinner. We sadly found out that our waiter Dennis’s contract will end in 10 days and we’ll be gone on our safari for 5 of those so our time with him is winding down. We sure hope we get to see him again on another Regent cruise since he’s the best!
For dinner I had the Goat cheese Risotto for my appetizer and the Lamb Shank for my main. You’d think after missing the games and doing all that heads down work I’d reward myself with a big ol’ dessert. Well, I did! Got the chocoholics dessert of Mississippi Mud Pie. Dang that was good!
After dinner we went to the show which was the pianist from the other night named Naki Ataman. Tonight’s show was called “Somewhere in Time” and was a tribute to the diverse music of the 20th century. He plays for over an hour with no sheet music and does not say one word during the whole performance. But the show was excellent!
After the show we called it a night. We have another sea day tomorrow so hopefully more passenger games than admin stuff! Hope everyone had a great day!
PS: We put the clocks back one hour again and get an extra hours sleep. I like this sailing west thing!
PSS: Half of the pics are of Isma’s solo performance!
