Oceania Riviera – 9 nite Alaska – Day 5 – Skagway, Alaska – Pics Part 1!

Sat Aug 1, 2026

Hi Folks! We are docked in Skagway, Alaska today! It is the Northernmost point of the Inside Passage, on the Alaska panhandle.  It boomed during the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush, earning a reputation as a rough-and-tumble town, which is now preserved as a National Historical Park.

We did a tour called “Bridge, Puppies and Summit”. It was so fun! We covered a lot of ground and even ventured into Canada. Some of our stops were the Welcome to Yukon sign, the Yukon Suspension Bridge, a kennel for sled dogs and we got to hold the puppies (YIPPEE!), the Welcome to Alaska sign, a tour of downtown Skagway, Pitchfork Falls, and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park Visitors Center. And on top of all that it didn’t rain and there were glorious blue skies! Not always seen in Alaska! Lol. It was a 6 hour tour but well worth it. I’ll let the pictures (had to post two sets there were so many good ones!) do the talking and do another update tonight after dinner.

PS: But no bears!!
