Hi Gang! Yes, we made it thru four straight sea days without getting Cabin Fever (and Kathy didn’t throw me overboard!) so we’ll define that as success! But you know how we love our sea days and today was closer to our norm with five passenger games.
Those five games were, Roll-A-Ball, Dutch Shuffleboard (Officer’s Challenge), 7’s Dice Game, Baggo, and Shuffle Golf. We won 9 Regent points and beat the Officer’s (or should I say annihilated the Officer’s with a score of 20-10!!). Now I know why they were running scared!
We chilled in the late afternoon (well, Kathy started packing but I refuse to since it makes it feel closer to leaving! Lol). We had a nice dinner in Compass Rose with four of our good friends, Diane and Warren from Vancouver as well as Dana and Jamie the World Cruise Hosts.
The funny thing is the four of us had dinner on the first night of this cruise (151 days ago! Pic included!) and decided we needed to have dinner again almost on the last night. We’ve gotten to be very close with Diane and Warren and hope to cruise with them again or visit them in Vancouver on one of our many Alaska cruises we love to do.
To me, Dana and Jamie have the best retirement gig in the world! Regent pays them to float around the world for about 5 months a year on the World Cruise and meet and greet lots of people. Jamie runs lots of the games and Dana does dance classes and book clubs. How do we get that gig??
They were both Regent Cruise Directors and part of the entertainment team for years but now have been World Cruise Hosts for the last five years and into the foreseeable future. Nice work if you can get it!
Along with our great conversation we had great food. For my appetizers I got both the Snow Crab Summer Roll and the Chicken Consommé. For my main I had the 7-Hour Short Ribs and for dessert I had the Kahlua Coffee Soufflé. As always, everything was delicious!
After dinner we went to the 9:30 PM show put on by our good friends from the Entertainment Team. Tonight’s show was “Blazing Boots”, which is one of my favorites. It’s all country music with a sultry flare to it. This sadly is their last show of this voyage (he writes while sobbing!). This group is so good we’re really going to miss them!
After the show we went to the Horizon Lounge for Latin night. Talk about sultry music… the lead singer for the Arista Duo could really shake her booty! Think Shakira!! What a fun night!
Tomorrow we are in Hamilton, Bermuda. Our last port of call for this amazing journey (again sobbing as I write this!). We have been here a few times but it’s a beautiful place and can’t wait to get off the ship after four sea days!! Hope everyone had a great day!
