Hi All! Well we start our final 5 day work week on this adventure! (Not a bad work week compared to my old ones!). Yes, only 5 more days and nights of this amazing journey. But for some reason there were only two passenger games today and no Officer’s Challenge. Are those Officers running scared??
But we had plenty of fun things to do (anything but starting to pack!!). And there were two World Cruise events that made today feel very special. While we did play the two passenger games of Ring Toss and Roll-A-Ball in the morning and won 2 Regent points, the fun started in the afternoon and went into the evening.
Regent closed Compass Rose and put on a special farewell luncheon just for all us World Cruisers. That was a very nice gesture and it was fun to sit with friends, reminisce a bit and eat great food. The Captain and General Manager stopped by to say hi and we got a picture with them. Great way to cap off a great cruise!
But the two major events that we were looking forward to were, first what Regent called “What a Swell Party Cocktail” in the Constellation Theater. Yes, there were again lots of fun drinks and Hors d’oeuvres, but the big event were all our good friends of the Entertainment Team putting on a special farewell show.
They performed a couple songs/dances from their variety show but also did some brand new pieces. Regent also put together a farewell video from the various departments on the ship as well as some video clips from the Captain, GM, Purser and HR person that were all on for a portion of the World Cruise.
The Captain also brought many people up on stage at the end and they thanked us all and wished us safe travels. Many people who have done multiple world cruises said they’ve never seen a send off party quite like this one. It made us all feel very special!
After that, our second fun event was having dinner with two of our good friends from that amazing Entertainment Team. We had dinner in Compass Rose with Russell and Emma. Russell is a Singer/Dancer and is from the UK and Emma is a Dancer and is from Argentina. Like the others, those two are the nicest people you could ever meet.
They were the two that Regent chose to stay on the cruise for a few weeks after the rest of the Entertainment Team gets off in New York in late June. They will train the new Entertainment team and help get them settled in. They were also chosen to be on the World Cruise next year so you know Regent regards them highly (and we see why!).
Along with great conversations about their futures, their love for travel as well as their families, we snuck in some really good food! I had both the Mushroom Tart and the Consommé as my appetizers. For my main I had the Dover Sole and for dessert I had the Creme Brûlée. Everything was delicious!
After dinner, we skipped the 9:30 PM show of the singer from the other night, who sang great songs but was just TOO LOUD! Tone it down dude! So instead we just called it a night.
Tomorrow is our fourth and final sea day until we reach Bermuda. (But we still have two sea days after Bermuda! This Atlantic Ocean is huge!). Hope everyone had a great day!
