Hi All! Today was a sea day but not quite our traditional sea day. A couple hours in the morning were not for passenger games but for a White Elephant Auction. That’s where people can bid on various experiences or items and all the money goes to the Crew Fund. The Crew Fund is used to subsidize events for the crew, like allowing them to go on excursions at a really low price. It was a lot of fun and it’s for a great cause!
As for the experiences and items that were auctioned off, I included a pic of the list but some new items were added as a surprise. Some of the items that were auctioned for the highest price were as follows:
$2,000 for a wine lunch with the Head Sommelier.
$1,500 for dinner with the Captain
$800 for a Navigational Chart of our World Cruise Route
$800 for a set of the Versace plates in Compass Rose
None of those were our bids but we did bid and won a World Cruise T-Shirt showing all the ports! ( I included a pic!).
In the afternoon we did get two games in which were Guess That Tune and Shuffle Golf and we won 5 Regent Points. We then went to the 5:45 Pre-Dinner show which was the Variety Show put on by the Regent Singers and Dancers. That’s the one they planned and choreographed themselves. We’ve seen it before but feel like it’s one of their best shows and always go to support them.
We then were fortunate to have dinner with two of the performers, Russell and Emma. They have been a couple for several years and are two of the nicest guys you’d ever meet. Russell is a Singer/Dancer and is from the UK and Emma (Emmanuel) is a dancer and is from Argentina.
We had dinner in the Italian Specialty restaurant named Sette Mari.
We started with the standard antipasto they bring out for everyone and I had the meatballs for an appetizer and the Osso Bucco for the main. For dessert I had the Tiramisu (what else?? Lol). Everything tasted so good just like an Italian Nonna made them. Another night of great dinner conversation but no food pics!
After dinner we went to the Horizon Lounge for the Disco Party! We tried to dance off all that great Italian food and not get blinded by the lights on the disco ball! It was a lot of fun and felt like we were back in the 70’s! Lol.
Tomorrow we are in São Tomé and Principe. Another new port for us! Can’t wait!! Hope everyone had a great day!
