World Cruise – Regent Seven Seas Mariner – 154 Days – The Seychelles, Africa – Day 107 – Final Pics!

Sunday April 26, 2026

Hi Folks! Well as they say, “the best laid plans…” We had originally planned to go snorkeling today. The tour left at 7:30 AM, which we weren’t too excited about anyway, so when we woke up at 6:30 and looked out and it was pouring rain and foggy we said, oh well, time to go back to bed. After some much needed shut eye, we awoke to see the rain had gone and it turned into a lovely day. Who knew?

So we got lucky and were able to get on a later snorkel trip at 11:50 AM. We boarded a catamaran at the pier and sailed to the Marine Park. We then boarded a semi-submersible (think submarine) to view lots of marine life. It was like snorkeling but sitting in an air conditioned ship. (It helped that they were feeding the fish! Lol).

We then sailed to the snorkeling site but since we just saw tons of tropical fish we decided to take the option to swim at the nearby beach. We swam for about 45 minutes and then sailed back to the pier and ended the tour around 4 PM. But while at the beach we saw a critter (a Horn-Eyed Ghost Crab)!

As to where we were, I mentioned yesterday, we were docked overnight in the Capital city of Victoria on the island of Mahe. Mahe is the largest island in the Seychelles archipelago with a population of 80,000. It is truly a beautiful part of the world!

After getting onboard we got showered and ready for the 5:30 PM church service. Jamie, the World Cruise Host, coordinates the service and always does a nice job and leaves us all with a positive message.

We then went to dinner tonight with two of our good friends from the Entertainment Team, Annie and Ashley. Annie is one of the lead singers and Ashley is a singer/dancer. Annie is from Virginia and Ashley is from Australia. As you can see, they are both beautiful people but are also beautiful on the inside!

We had dinner in the Italian themed restaurant Sette Mari and really enjoyed it. They start you off with a huge antipasto entree to share. You can serve yourself more from the buffet if you’d like. The rest is served by the waiters after you order. For my appetizer I got the Meatballs and for my main I had the Ossobuco (Veal Shank). Dee-licious! Again no dessert or food pics. Sorry!

After dinner we went to the show which was a guest entertainer named Naki Ataman. He was born in Istanbul and began his musical studies at the age of 4 and made his stage debut at 8. He is a classical pianist and his show was called “Around the World with Naki Ataman – A Unique non-stop Musical Adventure through the Popular Music of 19 Countries”.

Wow! What a performance! He played some incredible music and it literally covered 19 different countries and really wowed the audience. After the show we went to Karaoke and listened to some fun sing alongs! We luckily push the clocks back again another hour and so we get an extra hours sleep. Plus tomorrow is a sea day! Double YAY! Hope everyone had a great day!
