Tues July 28, 2026
Hi again Gang! We had a really enjoyable first night on the ship. We started with dinner at the Specialty French restaurant named Jacques. We chose to share a table so we could get an earlier dinner reservation. The two seaters weren’t until 8 or 8:30.
We had dinner with Jerry and Shelbi from Palm Springs, CA. They were really nice. They had lived in Baltimore most of their lives but moved out west to be closer to their daughters.
They too love to travel so we talked travel the whole time. They were especially fascinated by our world cruise and were asking many questions about it. Shelbi said she could not be away that long at this point in her life since her dad is 101! Now those are some good genes!
For dinner I had both the escargot and the pumpkin cream soup for my appetizers. For my main I had the Dover Sole and for dessert I had the Chocolate Cream Pot. Everything was delicious! Since we were with new people only took a pic of my main!
After dinner we went to the show which was the Oceania singers doing a show called “Broadway in Concert”. They sang songs from many different Broadway shows. I have to be honest, and I’ll admit I’m biased, but they did not hold a candle to the entertainment team on Regent. That Regent entertainment team was the best in the business!
After the show we went to Martini’s Lounge to listen to Tony on the piano. He had a really good voice and did a lot of the “sing along” type songs from Elton John, Billy Joel and others. It was a nice way to end of the night!
We were still a little jet lagged from the cross country flight so we crashed. Tomorrow is a sea day (YAY!) so we can sleep in and play some of the passenger games (here we go again with our games routine!). Hope everyone had a great day!
