World Cruise – Regent Seven Seas Mariner – 154 Days – Sea Day – Day 136 – Final Pics!

Monday May 25, 2026

Hi All! First and foremost, I want to wish all my USA friends and family a meaningful Memorial Day. It’s when we honor our fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can all live in freedom. And now that we’ve seen the world, it reinforces that we live in the greatest country in the world, bar none. Yeah, it has its flaws just like everywhere else, but nowhere else is like the good ol’ USA!

And for us Americans, it’s the official kick-off of summer. And oh what a summer it will be. Our nation celebrates its 250th birthday on July 4th and I can just imagine all the picnics, parades and fireworks to mark the occasion! I can’t wait! Wonder how many hot dogs I’ll eat??? Lol.

I also really appreciated that Regent put on a very powerful event remembering all the fallen soldiers. Many retired service members attended and Regent played all the military branch fight songs as well as other patriotic songs. They also read aloud service members who gave their life for their country and were related to passengers on the ship. We went to honor and remember all of them. And when they finished the program by playing taps, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. As someone said, “Never Forget and Forever Honor”.

Of course being a sea day we still tried to stick to our routine! We played three games, Roll-A-Ball, High Handed Dice Game, and Baggo. There was no Officer’s Challenge (BOO!) but we did win 4 Regent points (YAY!).

They had a Pre-Dinner show tonight at 5:45 PM with a Guest Entertainer Vocalist named Karl Loxley. We actually saw him on the Regent Grandeur back in August of 2024. He was good back then and even better now. He sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”, and many more. It was a great show!

For dinner we went to the French-themed restaurant named Chartreuse. Tonight we dined with our good friends Diane and Warren. They are world cruisers and live in Vancouver, BC. We actually had dinner with them on the first night of this cruise (see pic!) and we’ve been good friends ever since! We had such great conversation, we closed the place down!

For dinner I had to go with all French food so I got both the Escargot and the Mussels for my appetizer. For my main I got the fall off the bone Beef Bourguignon. And for dessert, what else, Creme Brûlée! Everything was Magnifique! Superbe! Splendide! Oui Oui!

After dinner we crashed since we have an early tour tomorrow. We’ll be in Cape Verde, an island off the coast of Africa. And you know the line… we’ve never been there before so we’re excited to explore there! Hope everyone had a great day!
