Hi Gang! We were docked in Namibia again today and we had another WOW tour! I’d say after our Kruger Safari, this one ranks right up there. We did a tour to Sandwich Harbor where the ocean meets the sand dunes. Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like it! But I have to say, it started out a little shaky!
We did it as a private tour since it was less expensive than Regent’s and we only had 4 people on our tour vs 40 on Regent’s. The tour company told us to meet at 7:30 AM but the driver did not show up until 8. He also had to meet up with two other people from a different cruise line but their ship was delayed.
So he was nice enough to set us up at a nearby coffee shop and buy us coffee, hot chocolate and a huge piece of chocolate cake! So we were sorta happy but he never got the other people until almost 10:30 so we had waited for 3 hours! But we were happy with our goodies and free wifi!
But all that frustration went away when he showed us the amazing stops along our tour. We started driving by the salt plant to see the huge mountains of salt. Then the lakes of red water, the flamingos, the jackel, then him driving us up and down the huge sand dunes to Sandwich Harbor. Lunch on a sand dune wasn’t too shabby either!
I’ll again let the pics do the talking even though they don’t do it justice on how surreal it was. We got back to the ship around 4 PM and got ready for dinner. I’ll do another update tonight.
PS: I had so many pics I split it up into two updates.
