Hi All! First and foremost, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there! I was blessed with a great mom and I know she still watches over me from heaven. With all the traveling we do, it’s great to have such a special guardian angel! And as a sign from mom, we woke up to a huge rainbow stretching across the sky. Priceless!
So today was another glorious sea day. We needed one bad! It was so nice to sleep in and not have a 5 AM game drive wake up call (although we LOVED our game drives). We played 5 passenger games which were Skittles, Baggo (Officer’s Challenge), 7’s Dice Game, Axe Throwing, and Shuffle Golf. We won 8 Regent points and beat the Officers! Double YAY!
At 6 PM, we went to the Captain’s Welcome Reception where Captain Abhi Singh (our Captain from the first few segments, who came back and we love him!) introduced all his officers. We had several new officers but a few stayed the same. It was fun to have Captain Abhi back at the Officer’s Challenge. He is so competitive!
After the reception we went to dinner at Compass Rose. It was bitter sweet since our regular waiter Dennis has gone home for a much needed vacation but we got a new head waiter named Apple that was very nice. We also got to keep our assistant server Marjorie who we also really like!
We were excited to be back in Compass Rose and lucky for you all, I included some food porn pics!! Lol. For my appetizer I had the Green Asparagus Risotto and for my main I had the Sake-Glazed Salmon. No dessert tonight since I ate so much at our safari resort!
After dinner we went to the show which was a guest entertainer named Samantha Ivey. She’s a vocalist who has performed in London’s West End and did “Momma Mia”. She sang songs from Adele, Les Mis, Annie, Carole King, and others. She had a powerful voice and was a great storyteller!
After the show we called it a night. Tomorrow we are in Walvis Bay, Namibia in Africa. Can’t wait to explore this new area! Hope everyone had a great day!
