World Cruise – Regent Seven Seas Mariner – 154 Days – Safari, Kruger National Park, South Africa – Day 119 – Pics Part 1!

Friday May 8, 2026

Hi Folks! WE SAW THE BIG FIVE!! So we not only saw that elusive leopard to round out our Big Five sightings, but we watched him for over 10 minutes! Our guide again said that’s very rare. We’ve been so lucky on this trip! He was just walking along the road and marking his territory in the grass. Such a beautiful animal and those spots are incredible up close as are the eyes! And we got sooo close to him. It’s kinda scary but fun. OK, I admit, I was so excited to see the leopard, I almost peed my pants! Lol

And that wasn’t the only sighting this morning. We saw a herd of elephants crossing the road and there were several babies included! It’s been unreal how many momma and babies we’ve seen this week. I attribute it to being Mother’s Day this Sunday! Lol.

We also saw baboons (including more babies) grooming themselves, more graceful giraffes and one of the most beautiful sunrises we’ve ever seen with all the suns rays beaming up to the skies separately. Unreal! (Been using that word a lot too this trip!).

We even saw a hippo bop up out of the water as we drove to the airport. He was saying goodbye and we were all sad leaving this little patch of paradise. I have to say this is one of the coolest experiences we’ve ever done! And it was 5 star all around. I know we will definitely do another safari!

From the accommodations of staying in a luxury train car with all that history. To our fantastic guide MK and all the great game drives he took us on. To the delicious food and impeccable service at the resort. As well as the great group of people on our Safari Drives. Everything was Five Star or in other words… AMAZING!!!

I’ll do another update later tonight. On to Cape Town, South Africa!

PS: These first set of pics are all leopards since he’s so cool and elusive!
