Hi Gang! Today we were docked in Richards Bay in South Africa. We will be docked here overnight and we’ll leave tomorrow morning for our 5 day safari. We were kinda bummed that they changed our itinerary for the safari.
We were supposed to leave the ship tomorrow at 9:30 AM and have a direct flight to the airport near Kruger National Park where our safari is. But a few days ago they told us we’ll need to leave the ship at 6:15 AM and we have to fly thru Johannesburg with a 4 hour layover! Yuk! But at least they’re giving us access to an airport lounge for those 4 hours with free food and drinks (ya know, cause we’re on 2 hour feedings! Lol).
So because of not arriving today until 1 PM, having to go thru immigration, having to get packed and having to leave so early tomorrow morning, we decided to skip doing any excursions. Kathy did take the free shuttle into town to do a little shopping and I stayed on board and played passenger games! I played Top Toss and Tic-Tac-Throw and won two Regent points. YAY!
Since we got going so late we just ordered room service for dinner. But even though we had to get up super early, we still went to the 9:30 PM show since it was performed by our good friends, the Regent Singers and Dancers. Some would say we’re obsessed with them or even stalkers! Lol. But we just say we love them like our own kids and always go to cheer them on and support them!
Tonight’s show was called Tuxedo (yes, we have seen it five times so maybe we are obsessed?? Lol). It’s described as a fresh take on the music of the Rat Pack including the Great American Songbook. It’s always a great show, with great music, performed by a great group of singers and dancers. So fun!
After the show we high tailed it back to the room to crash in prep for our early morning alarm! Big Five Safari Animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinoceros, and Cape Buffalo) here we come!! Hope everyone had a great day!
