Hi gang! Happy Groundhog Day! The nation’s most popular marmot saw his shadow today after leaving his burrow in Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, PA. That means we can expect 6 more weeks of winter weather! I wish that applied to the Southern Hemisphere because it was HOT and HUMID today! Please send any cold air down here please!
We got off the ship around 8 AM and our driver we had for our tour yesterday, Milton, was there to pick us up and take us to the airport. We had luckily checked in the night before and also splurged for first class seats! (Only $4 each extra per person… but you get what you pay for, all we had were seats in the front of the plane but they weren’t much better than the other seats and we didn’t even get a free drink!)
Our flight was about an hour and a half and when we got there we were met by our driver to take us to our hotel. The hotel is pretty nice and the rooms are huge and thankfully the air conditioning works great since it felt like it was 100 degrees with 100% humidity outside!
After we got checked in our driver took us to the spot where the three countries come together which are Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. There were several photo ops there showing the rivers coming together that will feed the Falls as well as your traditional tourist sign that said Iguazu. We also saw a huge bridge that connected Brazil to Paraguay. Kathy was not feeling that great so she stayed at the hotel while we went to see the tri-country spot. (That’s why the pics only show me!). We were only gone about 2 hours so she didn’t miss much.
After that we showered and took a siesta then had dinner at the hotel restaurant. We joined up with another couple from Tuscan that’s doing our same tour so the 6 of us had dinner together.
We have an early morning tomorrow when the driver picks us up at 8 AM to go see the Argentinian side of the Falls. Hope everyone had a great day!
