Day 2 – Heathrow to Southampton

Hi all. Well we made it safely to Heathrow and then took the bus to Southampton and checked into our hotel. The flight coming over started off a little bumpy so they delayed the meal service but it leveled out and was fine. We both were able to get a little sleep and felt pretty good during the day but started to get tired as the evening wore on. Hope to have our internal clocks set to England/Norway time by tomorrow. It helped that I took my “No Jet Lag” pills!

We’re staying at the Moxy Hotel which is literally almost across the street from the cruise port. It is a cool hotel and has sort of quirky vibe to it as you’ll see by a couple of the pics. It was nice that our room was ready since we got to the hotel at 11:30 AM.

We then went out and walked around Southampton which is a cute little port town with lots of history. We walked along the water then went down to a marina where we ate an early dinner looking out over the water. They were having a boat show and there were lots of cool boats in the marina. We also went by the hotel where passengers waiting to board the Titanic stayed. Kinda eerie that our cruise ship is leaving from the same port the Titanic left from. Yikes!!

We then walked thru the old town section which starts at a place called Bar Gate which I took a pic in front of. That’s the entrance to the old walled city portion of Southampton.

Tomorrow we board the cruise ship. Can’t wait!!
