Hi Again Folks! WOW! I thought Singapore was a cool city during the day. At night it just explodes with color! Our evening tour was called “Singapore Magical Night Tour”. We rode on the upper deck of a bus to various spots around the city. We started at the Lau Pa Sat Night Market to sample their famous chicken satay (chicken on a stick with peanut sauce). It was delicious!
We then went to Gardens By The Bay for the spectacular Super-tree Grove light and sound show. That was truly amazing! These 6 huge “trees” (165 feet high) feature solar panels, rainwater collectors and over 160,000 plants. Every night at 7:45 and 8:45 PM, there’s a free light show with music. It was really cool!
We then drove thru the rest of the city seeing it all lit up. We left the ship at 6:30 PM and didn’t get back until 10:30 PM. But every minute was worth it and the tour was great. Tomorrow is the “turnover” day when about 400 people get off and the same amount gets on.
The segment we just completed, called “Spectacular Asia at Night” went from Bali (Benoa), Indonesia to Singapore and lasted 16 nights and covered 3,024 nautical miles. Our next segment, starting tomorrow, is called “Indian Ocean Exploration” and goes from Singapore to Cape Town, South Africa for 30 nights. Should be fun! Hope everyone had a great day!
PS: I’ve told you how Regent treats you like family… when we got back from our tour, they had left us a Midnight snack with a note. Nice touch!
