Hi Gang! The word of the day is ELEPHANTS!! We were anchored off the island of Ko Samui in Thailand. Our tour today was called “Treating Elephants Ethically” and it was so fun. We drove to the elephant sanctuary and spent several hours feeding, petting and playing with the elephants.
When we got there, we first made “vitamin meatballs” for the elephants and oh were they excited to see us and eat the meatballs. After that they gave us all baskets full of treats we could use to feed the elephants from the overhead walkway. The baskets had a mixture of palm leaves, sugar cane sticks and bananas (which they like the best and the guide said they’re like chocolate to them!).
We then got to walk among them and pet them and take pictures with them. It was such a cool experience and a great excursion. I’ll let the pictures do the talking and I took so many pics I’ll send them in two parts. I’ll do an update later tonight.
