Hi Folks! Happy Easter! (Do they celebrate Easter in Hindu and Buddhist countries??). Probably not, but we did! We had another fairly uneventful day flying from Cambodia to Thailand other than their TSA agent kept insisting I had a lighter in my checked luggage. I don’t even smoke so not sure what they were looking for but we made it thru without being handcuffed. In these parts, that’s a good thing!
It was sad leaving our tour guide Art who was with us these last three days. He must have “gotten the memo” from Regent since he treated us like his family. He made sure we got thru TSA and waved us goodbye with their signature praying of hands to their hearts gesture. The Cambodian people are so nice and friendly. We even got a pic with him by our “Welcome to Cambodia” bus we used the whole time. What a comfortable bus!
We loved our Overland Tour and really enjoyed being off the boat for a few days. The only negative was how HOT and HUMID it was!! I think I drank 10 large bottles of water and probably sweat out more than that! The day we were at Angkor Wat the temp was 100 with a feels like temp of 110!! But it was worth every minute of it!
We got back to the ship at 1:30 PM and got unpacked. We even had time to go to the 3:15 PM passenger game to play SKII-BALL and win a Regent point. It was nice seeing all our friends and our Regent family crew. They’re the best! Now it feels like we’re back home! Regent even left us a box of Easter candy on our bed. (What, no Easter basket?? Lol). We then chilled for the late afternoon. I’ll do another update tonight.
PS: In about 10 days we leave on our second Overland Tour, this time to the Taj Mahal in India! Regent rightly named this world cruise “The Sense of Adventure”!!
