Hi All! Today was a triple WOW day! The biggest WOW was Angkor Wat. Such haunting architecture. It was built for King Suryavaman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. It was first Hindu, dedicated to the god Vishnu, but it’s now Buddhist.
Angkor Wat is the symbol of Cambodia, is on their flag and is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. We even climbed to the top of it! Like I said, WOW!
We also saw three other temples (one where they filmed Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie), we saw a monkey, we saw huge trees growing up through the temples, we went for a delicious lunch at a nice restaurant, and in the evening we rode a Tuk Tuk to the “Night Markets” and ate some street food. Crazy!!
But I’ll let the pictures do the talking since it’s late and we need to get up early tomorrow to fly to Bangkok. What an adventure! Hope everyone had a great day!
