World Cruise – Regent Seven Seas Mariner – 154 Days – Siem Reap, Cambodia – Day 84 – Pics Part 1!

Friday April 3, 2026

Hi Gang! We survived a Cambodian airport, a Cambodian airline and their version of TSA! (And the lines were much shorter!! Lol). The only bummer was we didn’t get an aerial view of Angkor Wat flying in. But we found out why. They built a new airport far from Angkor Wat since the jet vibrations were causing problems for the ancient temple rocks. Go figure!

We had a flawless day of transportation. The bus picked us up at 10:30 AM at the ship and took us to the airport and the guide got us all checked in. Our flight was only 45 minutes and nice and smooth. Especially given the fact the plane had a propeller!

No problem getting our luggage and meeting our new guide at the Siem Reap airport. As a welcoming gift, they gave us all a Krama, which is a traditional Cambodian scarf. The bus was about 45 minutes to the hotel. The Sokha Angkor Wat hotel we are staying at is really nice. Our room is huge, the lobby is very pretty and the swimming pool looks amazing.

We got checked into our room and got unpacked. I just chilled and Kathy went to get a manicure and a pedicure. They’re so cheap here! We then got ready to head out with our group for an evening show and dinner.

There are only 12 people from the ship on this trip so it’s a nice small group. We know several of them well (Sandy & Don, and Becky & Lenny but the others we’ve seen around on the ship but they aren’t full world cruisers so we don’t know them as well). I’ll do another update tonight.
