Hi Gang! We had our first of two sea days and it was as fun as the others. It started off with a nice surprise that really reinforces that the Regent crew makes you feel like family. We got a knock on our door this morning and it was Newman, the Head Sommelier.
He’s Balinese and he gave us a personal gift from his family in Bali that had our names carved into this wooden block. It has both a spiritual and symbolic meaning that provides protection, peace and prosperity for our family. How cool is that? I included a pic!
Of course being a sea day we played lots of passenger games such as Skittles, Axe Throwing and Name That Tune. We won 10 Regent points! But they did not have an Officers Challenge or we would have won more! Also, we did cross back over the equator and are now back in the Northern Hemisphere. We got another certificate for it!
Prior to dinner they had the “Block Party”, which they have each segment, where our “neighbors” on our hallway come out and mingle. We got to meet some of the new people that recently boarded. It was fun!
After that we had dinner at Compass Rose with two of the dancers, Margaret Atkinson and Guillaume (he goes by G) Verrier, who are not only amazing dancers but are such great people. Margaret is from Florida and started her dance training when she was eight. She loves to travel and has been to all 7 continents.
G is from France and started his ballet training at the age of four. When he’s not performing on ships he lives in London and works as a specialized personal trainer. He and Margaret are a couple and have been together for 3 years. Regent is good about coordinating their contracts so they can always sail together. Again, Regent makes you feel like family!
The Compass Rose food was excellent one again but since we were busy talking and catching up I didn’t take any food pics. For my appetizers I had both the Shanghai-Style Dumplings and the Guest Chef’s Yellow Fin Ahi Tuna. For my main I had the Guest Chef’s Crispy Skin Branzino. I finished it off with the Saint-Honore for dessert. Another great meal!
After dinner we went to the show which was the singing trio from the other night called The Oz Boyz. They sing such great music and have such high energy that everyone gets involved. We hope we can see them again on another cruise in the future!
We then went to the Horizon Lounge to listen to the Arista Duo and do a little dancing. We hang out with the regulars that go there every night like Tina, Christy and Debbie among many others. Great way to end off a great day!
Tomorrow is another sea day so we can sleep in a little and have another relaxing day. Hope everyone had a great day!
PS: Nerd alert… I finished off my taxes today and filed them. Thank goodness for online tax prep software!
