Hi Folks! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! Wait, we are a day ahead of you but by the time you read this it will probably be St Paddy’s Day. The ship was decorated with balloons, there was an Irish themed cake at lunch, the afternoon tea had lots of Irish sweets and there was a late night St Paddy’s Pub Night party that was really fun! Lots of people wore green and had added glitz on but no one was dressed as fun as our good friends Don and Sandy (I included a pic!). It was a great way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day!
Of course, being a sea day, we had our normal routine. For the passenger games we played Roll-A-Ball, Baggo (Officer’s Challenge), Top Toss, and Crazy Golf. We won 4 Regent points but the Officer’s beat us. Oh well, tomorrow’s another sea day!
They had a Pre-Dinner show at 5:45 PM that we went to with guest entertainer Jennifer Gray. She’s a singer who has performed in numerous Broadway plays such as Mamma Mia, Evita and many more. Her show was called “Songs From the Heart” and she sang many beautiful love songs from musical theater.
After that we went to dinner in Compass Rose with our good friends Tina, Ramone and Christy. They live in Miami and are Cuban. Tina and Christy play all the passenger games with us. They are such a great family and we’re so glad we’ve met them!
Because of our classy company I didn’t take any food pics but it was all delicious! For my appetizer I had the Chicken Consommé, for my main I had the Broiled Cod Filet, and for dessert I had the Molten Chocolate Lava Cake. It was a meal of great food, great friends and great conversation!
After dinner we went to the show which was a guest entertainer named Scott Williams. He’s a Stand Up Comedian from Australia and his show was called “The Laughter Show”. And boy did we laugh. He was hilarious and had the crowd in stitches. Great show!
We then went to the St Paddy’s Pub Night Party in the Horizon Lounge. Now that was a hoot! Our Cruise Director Dean, who’s actually Scottish, led the festivities along with our World Cruise host Jamie. We sang Irish songs, people danced an Irish jig, and they even got me and a few others up on stage to do a funny schtick. It was a great time had by all!
After that we called it a night. What a fun day! Tonight we turn the clocks back 30 minutes (who does that??) to get on Darwin time. Hope everyone has a safe and fun St Patrick’s Day!
