Hi Gang! Well, it must have been the Friday the 13th jinx! We were supposed to be anchored at Mooloolaba, Australia today but as Mother Nature would have it, the high winds and swells did not allow us to anchor and use the tender boats. Oh well, when you get handed lemons you make lemonade…. So we got another sea day. YAY!
But we were a little bummed since we were supposed to go to the Australia Zoo, the renowned “Home of the Crocodile Hunter”, founded by Steve and Terri Irwin. And of course we were hoping to hold a koala bear! How cool would that have been? But as good travelers we roll with the changes.
So we enjoyed another fun sea day. As to the passenger games we played Baggo, Top Toss (Officer’s Challenge), Axe Throwing, and Guess That Tune. We won 9 Regent points! But lost to the Officers. Oh well, we’ll have lots more sea days!
They decided to move the show from 9:30 PM to 5:45 PM since lots of people were up super early this morning thinking we’d be going ashore. The 5:45 show was a guest entertainer named Brendan Dooley. He is a Comedian/Magician and his show was called “Cheeky Deceptions”. He was really funny and kinda quirky. But he did some great magic and even took the watch of the arm of this woman and she never felt it!
After that we went to dinner at Compass Rose with a new friend we met named Brad. He doesn’t look it but he’s 87 years old and sharp as a tack. He will soon make Commodore status with Regent with over 2,000 nights. Crazy! He also runs a foundation that helps young kids with hearing disabilities. We had great conversation!
For dinner I had both the Snow Crab Summer Rolls and the Consommé for my starters and the Dover Sole for my main. For dessert I got to Soufflé. Everything was once again delicious. Given our guest, I didn’t take any pics. Sorry!
After dinner, in place of the 9:30 show, they offered a movie. But we skipped that and went to listen to some live music. Tomorrow we have another sea day. Hope everyone had a great day!
