World Cruise – Regent Seven Seas Mariner – 154 Days – Sydney, Australia – Day 60 – Final Pics!

Tuesday March 10, 2026

Hi Again Gang! The word of the day is WOW! Not only did we sail past the Opera House in the morning, visited the beautiful Blue Mountains in the afternoon, but also saw the lit up Opera House at night from our balcony. Like I said… WOW!

We did an 8 hour tour to the Blue Mountains to the West of Sydney. We started with a stop at a place within the Blue Mountains called Scenic World. It’s the transportation hub of the area.

We started with a ride on the Scenic Railway, which is the steepest passenger train in the world. It took us down into the rain forest area and it was also used as a coal mining area years ago.

We then rode the Scenic Cableway (the Southern Hemisphere’s steepest aerial cable car) back up to the top. After that we took the Scenic Skyway (the highest cable car within Australia) between the cliff tops.

We then drove to Echo Point lookout to see the “Three Sisters”. It is three limestone rock formations created over time by wind and erosion. Legend also says it was three aboriginal women who fell in love with three men from a different tribe but they were forbidden to marry. So a witch doctor turned them into stone. Crazy!

We then drove back to the ship. It was a long day but a very enjoyable day. We got back at 8 PM just in time to see a lit up Opera House. A nice end to an amazing day. We are still in Sydney tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great day!
