World Cruise – Regent Seven Seas Mariner – 154 Days -Auckland, New Zealand – Day 55 – Final Pics!

Thursday March 5, 2026

Hi Again All! We had another amazing evening but tonight it was exclusive to just the World Cruisers. Regent did it up big. Even the new President of Regent, Wes D’Silva came. It was at the Auckland War Memorial Building which also housed the Auckland Museum.

The majority of the evening was on the top floor under the Dome with 180 degree views of Auckland. It was such a beautiful setting. We started with live music from a four string quartet but then transitioned to some local Māori cultural music where they acted out stories. Such a great show!

The food was really good. I had the Beetroot Carpaccio to start and the Baked Market Fish for my main and some tasty Petit Fours for dessert. Everything was delicious. We ended the evening listening to the string quartet.

When we got back to our room we had a nice boxed gift that contained two items. Both are highly prized in the Māori culture. One is a Green Glass Matau (fish hook) and represents a safe journey across the oceans (we’ll need that!!) as well as strength and prosperity (we can always use that!).

The other is a Ceramic Kina which is a taonga (treasure) that is deeply intertwined with tribal identity, hospitality, and the spiritual connection to the sea (we definitely have that!). What great mementos of this amazing experience!

We are overnight in Auckland so we get another day in this beautiful city! Hope everyone had a great day!
