Hi Again All! We had another fun night with lots of activities. We started with the Captain’s Welcome Reception at 6 PM. Captain Abhi, our prior Captain who we loved, left the ship yesterday to go on a much needed vacation and will return later on the world cruise in Capetown, South Africa to take us back to Miami.
So we now have a new Captain and some new officers. The new Captain’s name is Rosario Vasta and he’s been with Regent for a long time. He introduced his Senior Officers and Managers and the Regent singers sang a few songs.
After the reception, we went to dinner at Compass Rose. It was nice seeing our favorite server, Dennis, since we hadn’t been there for a while. Today starts the Chinese New Year so they had a Chinese themed menu. For my first starter I had the Steamed Shanghai Pork Dumplings and for my second starter the Chinese Hot and Sour Egg Drop Soup. For my main I had the Sake-Glazed Salmon. For dessert I had the Tanzanian Chocolate Cake. Everything was so yummy!
After dinner we went to the show which was a guest entertainer named Chris Powley. He is a male vocalist from New Zealand who can sing, dance and entertain. His show was called “The Voice of Legends”. He sang songs from Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and Julio Iglesias. He had such a powerful voice!
After the show we went to the dance party put on to celebrate the Chinese New Year. It was a blast! Tomorrow is a sea day so we can sleep in. YAY! Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
