Hi All! Happy Valentine’s Day! And how cool that we got to stay overnight in a romantic place like Bora Bora. So I decided to get something extra special for Kathy for Valentine’s Day so I got her a “swim with the sharks” excursion. Pretty romantic right?? Lol
Actually it was an amazing excursion and we got to swim with tons of Blacktip Sharks as well as lots of Sting Rays. How cool is that? We were both a little concerned before we got into the water but it was shallow and you could stand up and the sharks would just glide by you.
We had snorkel masks so we could put our head under and just watch them swim by. The sting rays pretty much stayed on the ocean floor so you had to make sure you didn’t step on them! And our excursion crew was great. The main tour guide was hilarious and three of them were great musicians on the ukuleles and bongos. So fun!
This was our afternoon excursion. In the morning we did another “Le Truck” tour that took us around the island. We got to see Marlon Brando’s over water bungalow he stayed in while filming the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty”. We also saw lots of beautiful scenery. After both tours we got back onboard and got ready for our evening activities. I’ll do another update tonight. Hope everyone’s Saturday is going well!
