Hi All! Land ho!! We finally got on Terra Firma!! And oh what a beautiful place this is. We are anchored off the island of Rangiroa in French Polynesia. As the largest atoll in French Polynesia, Rangiroa, or “Immense Sky”, is a breathtaking crown of coral floating in the middle of the Pacific. This natural masterpiece is so vast that the entire island of Tahiti could fit within its central lagoon.
We had an amazing day. In the morning, we took a tender boat over and Kathy did an excursion to a Black Pearl farm and I walked around the port area and island. We then got back on the boat for lunch. You know, two hour feedings!
In the afternoon we took the tender boat back and went snorkeling. We went to a place called “Aquarium Garden”. WOW! I wish I had an underwater camera! There were fish everywhere and it was really like being in an aquarium. Along with all the tropical fish we saw a black tipped shark and an eel. Very cool!
After that we got back on to the boat and got cleaned up for dinner. I’ll do another update tonight. Happy Hump Day!
