Hi Gang! Today was another glorious sea day! We’ll have a lot on this world cruise since we have to cross so many oceans. But luckily we like sea days. For today’s sea day, I slept in a little, got a workout in at the gym, ate great food, caught some football but the most exciting event of all was FaceTiming with the grandkids! Really miss those little buggers!!
As to the passenger games on board we played “Skittles” (bowling), SKII-Ball with the officers (the darn officers beat the passengers again!), Roll-A-Ball (roll a ball thru a wooden set of slots for points), and Crazy Golf (putting for a hole in one). We won two Regent points in all. YAY!
We also watched parts of both NFL Playoff games. Was that Patriots vs Texans game sloppy or what? 8 turnovers… crazy! And the Rams vs Bears game was wild! Who thought that late in the game Hail Mary pass from Caleb Williams would have been caught in the end zone to tie the game?? Double crazy! After all that effort, feel bad the Bears lost.
In the evening we went to the Seven Seas Society party which is for anyone who has sailed on Regent before. Afterwards we had dinner at Compass Rose. We actually had dinner reservations at Chartreuse (French restaurant) tonight but our good friends Colleen and Steve alerted us that on Seven Seas Society nights, they always serve Miso Glazed Sea Bass (my favorite!) in Compass Rose.
So we switched our Chartreuse reservation to be in a few nights with Colleen and Steve and Terry and Don. So excited about that! But tonight in Compass Rose I had the Sweet Potato Cream soup for my starter and (of course) the Miso Glazed Sea Bass for my main. For dessert I had the Chocolate Mouse. Everything, as always, was excellent!
After dinner we went to the show which was a guest entertainer they just flew in yesterday. His name is JP Parent and he’s a Comedian/Magician. He was really funny and did some amazing magic. He somehow put a playing card inside an orange! Wouldn’t you love to know how they do some of those crazy things??
After the show we listened to some live music to end the night. We got some unexpected news from the Captain tonight. For security reasons, we are not stopping in Guatemala due to riots and civil unrest. We are bummed since we’ve never been to Guatemala before but strongly support the “safety first” approach to any of our ports.
So tomorrow we have another sea day! If we have to be anywhere, being on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner is the place to be! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
