Hi Folks! We made it on to the Regent Seven Seas Mariner ship for the World Cruise!! We are sooooo excited! We flew down to Miami on Thursday and stayed with Kathy’s sister and brother-in-law for two days. We had a great time visiting with the family and ate out at some great restaurants!
Today when we boarded the ship Kathy’s sister, her step mother, her niece and her niece’s boyfriend all joined us on the ship as guests to have lunch and tour the ship. They loved it just like we do!
We then got to our room to “start” to unpack our 12 suitcases!! Crazy!! Lol. We couldn’t finish unpacking today but we know it will all fit. We then got ready for the big Gala Dinner and show.
We got invited to have dinner with Dana & Jamie, the World Cruise hosts who we met last year on this ship. They are so nice and introduced us to Diane and Warren from Vancouver who were also very nice.
The food was delicious as always and tonight we had a special Gala Dinner Menu. For dinner I had the Tomato Carpaccio and the Roasted Baby Beets for my appetizers. For my main I had the Halibut Filet and for my dessert I had the Callebaut Chocolate Mousse.
Then we went to the special Gala Show which was a tribute band to Elton John and Billy Joel called Face 2 Face. They were amazing and we were all singing along to all those classic songs. Believe it or not they’re from Charlotte, NC! So for any of our friends in Charlotte, try to go see them. You will not be disappointed!
Of course we also watched some football and so bummed that our Carolina Panthers came so close to beating the Rams but couldn’t hold on. Oh well, now we have to cheer on our Steelers on Monday night!
We then crashed since we have an early day tomorrow. We are once again in Miami and will leave port around 4 PM. All the other people who are not doing the entire world cruise will join us tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great Saturday!
