Hi All! We made it home without any hiccups (always a great thing when flying these days!). Well, actually we came close to a hiccup. We got into the port of Miami at 7 AM but since our flight didn’t leave until Noon we figured we’d sleep in and get off at 9:30 AM.
Great plan until we realized there were 8 ships in port carrying over 30,000 people total. But actually it’s double that since 30,000 are coming in and most are trying to get to the airport (like us) and 30,000 are coming to the port to board their ship leaving today. Se we had a really hard time getting an Uber and the traffic was super crazy so we were getting worried we’d miss our flight. But we made it. Whew!
The flight was fine and on our second leg (Tampa to Charlotte) Kathy once again showed her selflessness and gave me her First Class upgrade seat. But for sure on our next trip if only one of us gets upgraded she will get it! And when we got to Charlotte it was a balmy 59 degrees which is a lot warmer than it has been so we got lucky!
We once again had another great cruise. Great food, great entertainment and great weather. Pretty much sunny and 80’s every day. Now I see why people spend the winter months in warm climates!
So we’ll settle in this weekend and watch football with family and try to go on a non cruise diet! Of course we’re also looking forward to the holidays. But of course the other thing we can’t stop thinking about and planning for is our big bucket list trip coming up in January. Packing for a 154 day trip around the world is a bit daunting. But we’re up to the challenge!
