Hi All! We made it home safely from our latest amazing adventure. We flew standby and wanted to try to get the earliest flight we could, so we handled our own luggage getting off of the ship.
We were in line to leave the ship by 7:30 AM, got in our Uber at 8:00, was at La Guardia airport at 8:30, boarded the 10 AM flight at 9:30 and was back in Charlotte by Noon. Whew… And we got First Class seats. Sweet!
As I mentioned in my first update, this was our first cruise on Crystal and I’d have to say they thoroughly impressed us! The food, service and entertainment were all top notch. If they offered free unlimited excursions, free laundry and unlimited lobster, they may well displace Regent Seven Seas as our favorite cruise line. So while Regent still remains our #1, Crystal is now right up there as a close #1a! And we’re actually looking at sneaking back on them for another short cruise in December!
Other than that potential Dec cruise, we’ll spend the next few months spending time with family and getting everything organized for our huge, bucket list, 154 day around the world cruise in early Jan! There are so many things to prep for (we don’t know what we don’t know!) but we are so excited to be blessed with this travel opportunity!
But of course I can’t stay land locked too long so I’ll be doing a quick cruise with my son in early November. That will be fun for him and I to hang out together. Kathy can’t go since she’s still dealing with that other 4 letter word…

So you may or may not see another Wandering Italian update until the World Cruise on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner in early Jan 2026. Until then, I want to thank you all for following along with us on our adventures. I hope I get to see many of you over the next few months but if not enjoy this beautiful Fall season and the upcoming holidays!
