Oslo to Barcelona – 8 countries in 18 days – Day 10 – Honfleur, France – Pics Part 1!

Thursday September 4, 2025

Hi All! Did you figure it out from the title? YES! We are in another country today! We are in France and docked in the cute little town of Honfleur. It is a city in northern France’s Normandy region. It’s at the mouth of the Seine River that flows to Paris. It sits right across from Le Havre, France.

It’s renowned for its rich maritime history and charming old harbor known as the Vieux Bassin. First mentioned in 1027, its strategic location at the Seine estuary made it an important fortified port. During the Hundred Years War it was heavily contested and occupied by the English several times. Notably, explorer Samuel de Champlain set sail from Honfleur to found Quebec City in Canada.

Today we took the ship’s shuttle bus over to the main square in town and spent the day walking all around the quaint town. Lots of cobbled stone streets, churches and the beautiful harbor. And they didn’t charge for toilets, how nice of them! Lol. We really loved Honfleur!

We then got back on board and chilled and got ready for dinner. I’ll do another update tonight. Happy Thursday to all!

PS: Today is my Dad’s birthday and if he was still with us he’d be 99 years old! He did make it to 90 so he lived a great life and I know he’s always watching over us on our travels. Love ya Dad!
