Oslo to Barcelona – 8 countries in 18 days – Day 5 – Copenhagen, Denmark – Pics Part 1!

Saturday Aug 30, 2025

Hi Gang! We are once again in Copenhagen today and had a great time exploring this amazing city! We felt like a couple of true Danes since we did it on our own. Walked off the ship, found the Metro, rode it into city center, took a walking tour, took a canal boat tour, and rode the Metro back. A full day of fun!

The Metro was pretty easy to navigate and a lot cheaper than an Uber. Once in the city we took one of those “Free” city tours where you pay at the end what you think it’s worth. We had the best tour guide named Pepito! He said he was also a comedian and he had us laughing the whole time along with giving us all the history of Denmark.

He also got us there in time to see both the Palace guards marching thru the shopping district (looked funny!) on their way to the Palace as well as the changing of the guard at the Palace. The guards looked so young!

After that we took a canal cruise. This city does remind you of Amsterdam with all its canals and bikes. They were having a swimming race thru the canals where over 5,000 people were signed up! The water had to be cold! Crazy!! We also saw the King’s yacht which is one of the oldest Royal yachts in the world.

While walking we also saw Christiansborg Palace and its horses, the inside of the Marble Church we saw yesterday, as well as the Church of Sweden in Denmark.

We then rode the Metro back and got back onboard the ship. I’ll do another update tonight after dinner. Hope everyone’s having a great weekend!
