Oslo to Barcelona – 8 countries in 18 days – Day 2 – Boarding the Navigator!

Wednesday Aug 27, 2025

Hi Gang! We made it back onto our sweet little Navigator ship! We had a good night’s sleep and grabbed an Uber from the hotel to the ship. Embarkation was a breeze and we got checked in by one of the Regent dancers, Peter, who remembered us from last time. We were on within minutes and sitting down for a nice lunch in La Veranda.

But what was coolest was that soon after we boarded, our old friend Mailyn, one of the servers, saw us and welcomed us back. The bummer though was she told us several of our other friends were now working on other ships, especially our head waiter last time, Arsika. Was really hoping we could get him again.

After lunch we toured the ship and got acclimated again with where everything is. We snuck outside for a little bit of shopping since there was a little store front next to the ship. But it was a little rainy and their prices were way too high! We then went to our suite and got unpacked and settled in.

We got cleaned up and went to dinner at Compass Rose, the main dining room. It always amazes me how extensive their menu is, and I would say has to be the best in the cruise industry. To get back into true Regent cruising form of course I had to have the Lobster!

So I started off with the escargot and the crab/avocado for starters. Had the Lobster with the Barramundi fish for the main. To lighten it up (and try to be a little heathy!) I had the Fresh Fruit Plate for dessert. Another excellent dinner at Compass Rose! It’s good to be back “home”!

After dinner we went to the show which was called “A Taste of Things to Come” which was an introduction to the various acts we’ll see on this voyage. We really liked the Regent Singers and Dancers and were glad to see Coby back as one of the singers. He was on the last time as well.

After the show we went to the Navigator Lounge to listen to Rod play the piano. He was pretty good but he had big shoes to fill of our favorite Navigator Lounge piano player Mark Aranda. Mark will truly be missed.

Tomorrow we’re in Skagen, Denmark and we’re excited to see it since we’ve never been there before. Hope everyone had a great Wednesday!
