Hi Again Folks! We had another nice evening (and we’re still pumped about seeing that Black Bear!). We had dinner in the Britannia Restaurant and again got in quickly since we were in the virtual queue via the app.
The menu was back to being so-so. OK, OK I know we’re spoiled by Regent Seven Seas but to be honest even Holland America’s menu was better. But hey, we ain’t going hungry!
For starters I had the Ham Hock Croquettes and the Roasted Tomato Soup. For my main I had the Barramundi fish and for dessert I had the Warm Bakewell Tart. To be honest, I had no clue what the Bakewell Tart was so I Googled it! It said “The Bakewell Tart is a traditional British dessert originating in the town of Bakewell in Derbyshire, England. It consists of a shortcrust pastry filled with layers of jam and frangipane – a sweet almond-flavored custard topped with flaked almonds.” It was actually pretty good (given there was no chocolate on the menu!!).
After dinner we went to the show which was a trumpet player named Nathan Samuelson. He was really good and played music from Michael Buble, Chris Botti as well as some great Latin rhythms.
After the show we listened to live music from a new group named the Blackthorn Duo at the Golden Lion Pub. They are an Irish folk music duo that were really good. Thought we were in Dublin! Also forgot how most of those Irish songs are funny stories. Hope to see them again! We then crashed and are really excited for tomorrow’s scenic cruising thru Glacier Bay National Park. Hope everybody had a great Saturday!
