Hi Again All! What a fancy (or should I say Gala!) evening we had. So as I mentioned on day 1, Cunard is a lot more formal of a cruise line and many people choose it so they can dress up, wear their gowns and tuxes, and go ballroom dancing. For two nights on this cruise they will have what they call Gala nights where the dress code is more formal and they also add a “theme” to the night. Tonight was one of those nights and the theme was “Ice White”. They suggest you wear your finest white, silver or blue attire to embrace Alaska’s incredible glacial scenery (did a Marketing person write that?? Lol).
So Kathy got a nice dress for Ice White night and looked amazing and I tried my best but just can’t match her! We had dinner in the Britannia Restaurant again and the wait was shorter since I learned we could go on the app and sign up to be on a virtual queue. Since it was Gala Night, the menu seemed a bit better than last night which was nice.
I went all seafood with the Seafood Thermidor Tart and Shellfish Chowder for my starters and the Halibut with Peas and Bacon for my main. I ended with the Roasted Pineapple for dessert. All of it was delicious!
After dinner we went to the show which was called “This Broad’s Way”. The performer’s name is Jeri Sager. The show is described as “Jeri recreates some of her most memorable and critically acclaimed roles. Full of sass and brass, you’ll find yourself laughing and moved to tears.” I have to admit, we did both and really enjoyed her performance.
After the show we went to the British Pub named The Golden Lion and listened to the Southeast 9 Duo. We really like them and enjoy their music. We then called it a night.
Tomorrow we’re in Ketchikan which will be our first port! And tonight we set the clocks back an hour so we gain an hours sleep and will be recharged to explore the area! Hope everyone had a great Friday!
