Hi Folks! First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my co-pilot Kathy! She is such a trooper. We were actually flying over the Midwest when her birthday actually hit but she took it all in stride. But we will celebrate big time on the ship today and all week!
Forgot to mention the “small world” thing last night. Our shuttle bus driver actually grew up just a few miles from where I did. And we knew some of the same people. How crazy is that??
We slept well and got the shuttle to the pier. It was a little longer wait to board (we’re spoiled with the small luxury ships we usually do or having priority on the others) but it was all good. We were at the Lido having lunch by 1:15 which was not bad since we left the hotel at 11:15 and it was a 40 min bus ride to the pier.
We had a nice lunch, toured the ship and got settled into our room and unpacked all our stuff. At first blush, this is a really nice ship. Very classy, elegant and has sort of an old school ocean liner look. We both really like the look and feel of the ship. But we’ll wait and see how the food, service and entertainment is. The good news is we’re excited about the daily program showing all the live music options. Hope they’re all good!
After that we got cleaned up and ready for dinner. I’ll provide another update after dinner. Hope everyone’s having a great Thursday!
