Hi All! We made it home safe and sound! But it was a L-O-N-G day of travel. We were up super bright and early and only had to walk a few minutes from our hotel to reach the check in desk at the airport. Sweet! And we’re finally reaping the benefit of putting all these cruise costs on our airline credit card… access to the plush airport lounges! Lol. So we hung out at the one in Stockholm airport and had breakfast.
We then flew British Airways from Stockholm to London which took about 2.5 hours. The flight was smooth and on time. And we got all our luggage, always a big plus nowadays. Since we were changing airlines we had to pick up our luggage and re-check it in for our American Airlines flight. We did have to walk for a bit since we flew into Terminal 5 and had to get to Terminal 3 and Heathrow is a huge airport! We even had to take a train so it took awhile. Like I said before, this international traveling is tiring!
Once we checked our luggage in we went to the American Airlines lounge but they wouldn’t let us in since we were standby. So we went to the British Airways lounge and they let us in! Too funny! I told Kathy to tell her CEO that!
So we hung out there and had a huge meal until we were ready to go. Those places are like one big man cave with TVs and tons of food, snacks, drinks and sweets. You could literally live there! Lol
Our flight from London to Charlotte was delayed a little and had an interesting event. There was a couple sitting right in front of us that were coughing profusely and it seemed like the husband was having a hard time breathing. That caused a flutter of flight attendants hanging around to assist. At one point we thought the flight may turn around due to a medical emergency. But when we landed they asked everyone to wait before deplaning so the medics could come in and assist the passengers. Sure hope they’re OK.
We once again got all our luggage (YAY) and headed home. Thanks to all who traveled along virtually with us. I probably say this after every trip but this one truly was amazing. It’s always fun going to new places you’ve never been to and this one did that for the most part. We still have a busy travel schedule ahead for the rest of the year so I hope you’ll travel along with us. We leave again in less than a month! (No rest for the weary!!).
I’ll leave you with only one picture and a quote. The picture is our cool itinerary. Put all of those stops on your bucket list! And an inspiring travel quote…
Travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer!
