Hi Folks! We had another great day in Rouen, France. We got to sleep in and relax in the morning which is always good. We skipped breakfast and went straight to lunch! (I know, what the heck are we doing skipping a meal on a cruise??!!). We then got ready for our afternoon tour.
It was a 4.5 hour tour entitled “Charming Norman Village and Castles”. We drove to Les Andeleys to see the ruins of Chateau Gaillard, a medieval castle. It was built during the 12th century by Richard the Lionheart, King of England and Duke of Normandy. It was on a hill over the River Seine and considered the key building of defense guarding Normandy.
We then went to Lyons La Foret, a quant village named one of the most beautiful villages in France and we would agree! It sits along the River Lieure. We had a guided walking tour thru the village and then time on our own to explore. We then drove back to the ship.
We got back on the boat, got showered and went to eat dinner. I’ll do an update after dinner. Happy Monday to all!

William the Conqueror!
