The Baltics – Day 3 – Rouen, France – Final Pics!

Sun April 13, 2025

Hi Gang! We had a great afternoon in Rouen. We did a two hour walking tour of the city and got to see all the major sites. We saw the Saint-Maciou church, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Joan of Arc church. Heck we even saw where they burned Joan of Arc at the stake! Ouch!! We also saw some cool cobblestone streets with half timbered houses. The city has such a quaint look to it. And we loved seeing the large astronomical clock called Le Gros-Horloge up close. Amazing!

Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and told interesting stories along the way. One of them was how the right hand tower of the Rouen Cathedral was named the butter tower because it was funded by all the rich people giving money to the church to forgive their sins for eating butter during lent when it was forbidden. I love butter so I’d have probably given to that fund! Lol

We got back late so we did room service which is white table cloth service brought by our butler (Lah-Tee-Dah!). And the food was delicious!

After dinner we went to listen to the piano player Felipe who is good but not as good as the jazz pianist last night in Silver Note named Andre. After that we went to the show which was a singer named Jesse Hamilton Jr doing a show called “Generations of Soul” which covered 5 genres of music inspired by generations of musicians starting with his own family. The music and his singing was very good!

After that we went to listen to Esther and Andre do their last jazz set at the Silver Note. That really is one of the best music venues at sea in my opinion. We have another day in Rouen tomorrow! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
