Hi Again All! We had a great first night on the ship! Regent, no matter which ship we’ve been on, does it better than anyone. The food and entertainment are always top notch. And we easily got all our clothes in the closet and drawers so we think we can handle it for the World Cruise!
We had dinner at Compass Rose, their main dining room, and as always, they tease us with the option to have lobster every night. So who are we to deny that tease?? Yes, we got back on the lobster train (the LPS – Lobster Protection Society, be damned!) as well as the escargot train. Both were delicious (as was the Mahi Mahi, the mussels, the beef carpaccio, and the Kahlua Coffee Soufflé!) but we have to admit that the escargot was slightly better on the Regent Navigator ship we were on this past Fall. That chef did it the BEAT!
After dinner we went to the show which was three male singers called the Midatlantic Men. They were two Americans and one Brit that did a funny routine of trying to determine which country had the best music while singing the music. They sang songs from Queen, the Beatles and Elton John for the Brits and from Elvis, Tina Turner and Billy Joel from America. All agreed it was a tie since all the music is fantastic!
After the show we listened to both the piano player as well as the singing duo. Both were good but neither knocked our socks off. But we’ll have to give them all another chance. We really miss the piano players Alfredo from the Silversea Silver Ray and Mark from the Regent Navigator. They were both amazing!
We were tired so we called it a night. We have a sea day tomorrow so we can sleep in and relax! Ahhhhh… Hope all our friends on the East Coast are keeping warm and sending prayers to all the people in California dealing with the wildfires. That’s so tragic! Take care all!
