Rome to Barcelona – Third Time’s a Charm – Day 5 – Siracusa, Sicily – Pics Part 1!

Fri Nov 15, 2024

Hi Gang! We were docked in Siracusa, Sicily today and we found a new little Italian village we love! It’s actually a little island just off Siracusa called Ortigia. It was so fun to walk around we did it twice! Our tour wasn’t until late in the day so we got off the boat early and walked around the island of Ortigia.

We then got back on the ship and had lunch. After lunch we did our excursion with the first part touring the Neapolis Archaelogical Park with all its Greek and Roman ruins and the second part walking thru the streets of Ortigia. This time with a guide that explained all the buildings and churches!

But like I said we fell in love with Ortigia. This historic quarter had a colorful market, a lively main square, funky back alleys, cute shops and breezy sea views. What’s not to like!

I’ll let the pictures do the talking and post another update after dinner. TGIF to all!
