Hi again All! We had a great first night on the Navigator! Believe it or not, we were more impressed with the food and entertainment on this, the oldest ship in the Regent fleet, than we were on the Grandeur back in August which is the newest ship in the fleet. And the cruise director Ray, who seriously has to be like 75 years old or older, still has it! He sang, he danced and he even did a ventriloquist act with an Elvis puppet while singing an Elvis song. Unbelievable!
Dinner was once again of the highest Regent quality and my little lobsters were as succulent as ever! And the rib eye wasn’t too shabby. Desserts were decadent and the service was top notch. We loved the table they sat us at and hope to sit there again in the future. All in all a great dining experience!
The show was called “A Taste of Things to Come” and we got to meet the Regent singers and dancers, the Regent Orchestra, and the various musical duos that will play around the ship and they all did a small piece of their act. They were all really good so we have some great entertainment to look forward to!
Ray also introduced one of the guest speakers who discussed some of the topics he’ll be covering this cruise with many of them being related to the amazing history of the areas we’ll be visiting. One of the first topics he’ll discuss is the migrations of Italians to America which is how my family got here so that should be really interesting.
We ended our night like we usually do listening to the piano player playing music in the piano bar. Such great music!
Tomorrow we are in Naples where my dad’s side of the family is from so who knows, I may see some of my relatives! Hope everyone had a great Saturday!
PS: Shout out to my grandson CJ who turned 4 today! I miss you buddy but glad we got to celebrate before we left!
