Hi Folks! Well we made it home safely late Wed night but it was a looong day of travel! We flew from Athens to Philly to Charlotte and while everything went well other than a few delays, it was about 22 hours of travel time! But it was sooo worth it!
This trip was one of the best (I say that every trip don’t I?). The ports we went to were amazing. The weather, while hot, was sunny every day with no rain. The ship, the newest for Regent, was over the top luxurious. And the service, food and excursions were all top notch (I will miss my lobster tail every night!).
The Mediterranean is a beautiful part of the world and if you haven’t had a chance to go yet, add it to your bucket list. Before this trip, I had not really heard of the “Aegean” and thought it was all just the “Mediterranean”. And technically it is but they break the larger Mediterranean Sea into smaller sections like the Aegean Sea. Given that, we also sailed thru the Ionian, Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas. So we really did sail across the Seven Seas!
Thanks again for traveling along with us. We’re taking about a month break and will be back onboard Regent in late September to travel thru the Mediterranean again when hopefully it will be a lot cooler!
I’ll leave you with a saying I read the other day that has now become my life’s mantra:
“Travel as much as you can… As far as you can… As long as you can… Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.”
PS: I only included a couple pics. The first was when we docked in Athens, we were right next to the Oceania ship we had cruised on before (how funny), and the other two were sunsets as we flew into Charlotte.
