Hi Gang! We had a fun start to Kathy’s birthday today! We went into town in the morning and found some good souvenirs (I’m looking at you grandkids!). This was our first time to Greenland so that was really exciting. It was a little damp and chilly but that didn’t stop us.
Then we came back to the ship for lunch and when we got back to our room, our room stewards had decorated the room for Kathy’s birthday with a sign and a cupcake! That was really special!
Then we went on a whale watching trip and saw TONS of whales! We also saw cool icebergs and an amazing waterfall where we came right up to it and grabbed some water (which was from a glacier) and it was so refreshing!
We then came back to the ship to get ready for Kathy’s birthday dinner in the Pinnacle Grill. That’s the upscale restaurant on the ship and Sue and Stuart got us reservations for Kathy’s birthday.
I’ll do another update after dinner. That’s all for now. Happy Hump Day (very appropriate since we saw lots of Humpback whales today!).
