Hi Folks! While today was somewhat a carbon copy of the last two days, we had a major change in one aspect of it. We got lots of sleep, had great food and did great at trivia (now that is new!).
After we slept in and had lunch, just Kathy and I played trivia and got 14 out of 17 right. We came in second place by one point! One of the questions we missed was “Who was the original host of Jeopardy?” Who knew it was Art Fleming! (Well at least one team did!).
We watched part of the afternoon movie they had called “Oceans” by Disneynature and that was really good. Amazing what goes on in the depths of the oceans!
We left early to go play trivia at 4 PM with Sue and Stuart and the couple from Albany and did great again coming in second by one point. Must be all that rest we’re getting to help our brains!
After trivia we went to hear the talk on Nuuk, Greenland, our port stop for tomorrow. Nuuk claims it’s the northernmost Capitol of the world… wait, didn’t Reykjavik claim it was??? Lol
And we have to taste the local food and drink… Mattak – served raw, is made from whale skin and blubber! And their beer is called Sugar Kelp Ale and is made from seaweed! As they say, “When in Rome!”
For dinner we both had the Crab and Asparagus Quiche for our first starter then Kathy had the FOS and I had the Salmon and Prawns. For our mains, Kathy had the Flank Steak and I had the Crab Cakes. For dessert Kathy had the Hot Fudge Sundae and I had the Carrot Cake. All was yummy!
After dinner we went to the show which was a violinist named David Klinkenberg. He was not only a very great violinist but also a very interesting guy. He wrote a book about the Da Vinci code and is currently working on a movie about it. He may give a TED Talk later in the cruise about it.
After the show we just chilled (the piano player had the night off!) and went to bed early since we step foot on Greenland early tomorrow. First time to that country… YAY!
PS: Tomorrow we’re celebrating big since it’s Kathy’s birthday!
PSS: Today’s bonus pics are some views of the Greenland coast!
