Voyage of the Vikings – Day 6 – Crossing the Arctic Circle – Final Pics!

Tues July 2, 2024

Hi Again All! I have to say the food on Holland America has been very good. I was afraid we had gotten spoiled with all the luxury cruise food but this food (minus my lovable lobster!) has been great. Tonight we had another great meal.

Kathy started out with French Onion soup (are you sensing a pattern??) and the beef carpaccio while my starters were the shrimp tacos and the baked potato soup. All were very good. For our mains, Kathy had the Prime Rib and I had the Parmesan-Panko Baked Hake. For dessert we both had the Opera Cake in a Jar and it even had the Treble Clef musical symbol on it for Opera! So yummy!

After dinner we went to the show which was a pianist named Elliot Finkel. He played a lot of Broadway songs as well as some Billy Joel and other great piano music. He was very talented and pretty much used all 88 keys on that piano!

Tomorrow we’ll be in Iceland (First Time – YAY!). Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is defined by its dramatic landscape with volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and lava fields. We’ll be in the town of Akureyri and have an excursion to see some waterfalls. They say it’s the land of fire and ice so we’ll see. We’ll be in various ports in Iceland for the next four days straight. Can’t wait to explore it! Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
